A Peaceful Mind...
Today we ran further along the coast line than yesterday, the energy of the place changed as we ran into the old town of San Sebastian... 'Wow, I can feel the history here' I said... 'It feels steeped in it, even though I know nothing of it!'
We ran round the curve of the land, and below us stretched a large expanse of beach... The sand looked firm and inviting to run on...
As we ran, we watched the people below us by the shore, wrapped up in winter wear; suddenly two people in bathing suits appeared making their way down to the waters edge....
Then we then spotted three more paddling...
'Perhaps the water is warm?' I hazarded a guess...'What sea is it?'
'The Atlantic' Anadi said 'unlikely to be very warm...'
We were looking out over, we discovered later, the Bay of Biscay renowned for its rough seas, which we witnessed ourselves yesterday...
'Perhaps they were having their swim cure then?'
We ran further along and then down some steps to the beach...
'This beach will be great for intervals' I said....
The sand firm and flat, the sound of the waves beside us...
The sky quite grey with clouds hanging low.
'I love this'! I exclaimed 'I love this place...'
I recognised the child in me, my mother said to me that I never wanted to leave home to go on holiday, and then I never wanted to leave the holiday place to come home...
This is still true of me now...
I was happy in Lanzarote and felt I could stay there for ever, and now that I have landed in this City which appears to offer everything, I feel I could stay here forever...
It offers everything, except maybe sun at the moment!
But I am enjoying the change, the fresh air with rain in it, the swirling autumn leaves, the darkness falling and people running by in tights and long sleeved tops...
We have entered a new paradigm, like in the 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe... It feels like we have simply clambered through a portal to a brand new world, our own Narnia in which anything could happen...
And six hours ahead of us here in Spain, my friend Tom is in Thailand, a total other world, where sometimes we are even existing in different days....
And yet the essence of love and connection is at the core of existence, wherever we are and whatever we are experiencing...
Tom sent me some photos he took in a Buddhist Temple with suggestions for living which if lived can make all the difference to our experiences...
This is what he sent...
Anxiety shortens life
The value of life is a peaceful mind
Today is better than tomorrows
The pure mind makes life happy
Mindfulness and awareness guide us to pass the crisis
The trained mind brings happiness
Clean clear calm these are the characteristics of a noble person
Unconditional love is great and powerful
Thank you Tom in Thailand from Julia in San Sebastián...
We are all connected always, wherever we are in the world...
We are all one
Namaste
