You Are A Child Of The Universe...
The sea is warm, officially warm...
Athena Jane taught us the 'getting in quick' method for sea that feels too cold to be swimming in.... And we have been practicing this way, ever since we watched her go to the waters edge, and dive straight in...!
But today it was easy, like immersing ourselves in a warm turquoise nectar... I have a belief - a feeling - that the sea is healing me, and winkling out anything that needs winkling out...
It is unravelling me, and stretching me out day by day...
My troublesome left side, is less troublesome than it has been in many years... There is something about swimming in the ocean that feels total... I become one with all that is and all that isn't... And then, straight after my swim, there is 'the hot stones treatment...'!
Lying back on the stones, which have been saoking up the warmth of the sun, after wading out of the sea, is very wonderful... It feels very healing, very sensuous; delicious on my body... Bonding with the earth after being immersed in the ocean... And I appreciate the delights of being in a body, experiencing the joys of nature; a child of the universe...
I am reminded of Desiderata and Max Ehrmann's words...
“You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.”
This morning we found our way to the New Balance shop, where Amy had said our numbers for the 'Urban Corfu trail' race would be....
Sure enough, they were, and after establishing where the race start was, we headed out of town again....
Arriving at a junction, we could see that if we turned left, this would be a quicker route home.... But, we were hesitating, unsure whether it might be a one way street!!
At that moment a moped drew up beside us... 'Are you lost...?' A voice enquired... And there was Giannis our 'car hire man.'
'Your are our angel...' I smiled... 'Follow me' he said, having informed us that the left turn we wanted to take led to a dead end... 'Did you have a nice run in Ipsos this morning...' He continued...
And before we had time to respond, he laughed, and zooming off to lead us out of town, called out ' I AM an Angel...'
Later...
We are in Dwight's bar now, Calypso.... It was become my 'routine' to come here to write my blog each day...
I have just been served a perfect Capuccino by Pavlo...
He was born here and loves the island... He told us that he has a Greek father, and an English mother, who met one another here...
'You know when an English tourist arrives, and falls in love with a Greek man... Well, I am the result...' he said, gesturing up and down his body...
We all laughed, and he said that his work is more fun when there is some chat and engagement with the customers...
I then proceeded to tell him that Anadi is the result of love in front of the fire on Christmas Day...!
'Too much information...' Pavlo laughed ...
'Ah I said...' But it is nice to think that you were both born out of love...'
