It's Hot Here Too...!
'I imagine you have witnessed that there really are no constraints', the lady sitting next to Anadi on the plane responded....
I had been saying how we have met many people living unconventional lives, since becoming nomads ourselves...
'Many people won't do it of course...' she continued... 'But there's nothing to stop anyone...'.
'The constraints are inside us...' I said, she nodded...
We had started chatting because she asked us if we had been on holiday, or were going on holiday....
So we told her that we are in effect always on holiday...!
And so is she... She and her husband have been living on the island of Paxos, for the past seven years, having originally journeyed there to buy a holiday home... Which soon became their permanent home... They sold up and left the UK..
She is heading now for Bridport for a 'holiday' in England... In just over a week we will be staying in Eype two miles away from her...!
The more conversations we have, the more our worlds expand and we learn and discover all the different ways there are to live and to be on planet earth...
Our lives can shift, simply by being made aware of our resources both inner and all around us... Opening up to new ideas and new ways of being...
This is true of people who do not know how to make their lives work.... They have been born into poverty, or hopelessness, or any disadvantaged circumstances, and do not know how to change anything about their lives....
The restrictions seeming to be very much on the outside, disempowering those living within them...
As well as those who are making their lives apparently 'work out' in terms of wealth, and outward success, but are just as trapped within situations which do not truly suit them, but they do not know how to escape...
Conversation opens new possibilities, new vistas stretching out before us... What if's... Hows? Whens? Wheres?
And conversation can limit too, especially those we have with ourselves...
If we notice all of our internal dialogue, then we can truly learn to be mindful, which means finding the space between these thoughts and allowing them to simply pass through, rather than reacting and responding to them...
Instead we can stay open, still, clear, and listening to our true inner voice; hearing inside our being, when something we see or hear, a new idea or possibility, maybe something we read, truly resonates with the path our soul would like to go....
This takes practice, and it takes being aware that the way we think, affects how we live in each moment; which is why it is preferable to do very little thinking and instead start noticing...!
Last night we said Au revoir to our friends the Salvanous...
It is not 'goodbye', as I said to them... We have to keep coming back to watch their children grow up, and I am hoping to eventually be able to attend a Greek wedding!
There have been five new babies born into the family, in the last eight months.... We are firm friends with Aphrodite six years old, her brother Anastasios, who is three and Alexandra, their cousin, also three years...these are the three older cousins of the new babies....
We had our last supper with them, and a 'photo shoot' with our 'fabulous friends'... Just before we went to bed Ioanna arrived with Aphrodite and Anastasios... They brought me a beautiful necklace made of a bright turquoise bead - the colour of the sea, and a dominant colour in my own aura...
And today we are gone - until we return - and apart from noticing the children growing... It will be but a moment in time....
This morning we rose early, and ran five miles, before our final swim in our magical Ionian 'swimming pool....'
We packed up all our belongings... It doesn't take long!
A last hug with Giorgos, Nikos, Dora... And Stefanos too, who arrived just as we were heading down the hill....
And then we sped through Ipsos, our home for the past two months....
We slowed outside Lagoon and saw Denise inside, who was busy and so didn't see us....
And then we did the same thing as we passed by Calypso... We waved and called to Dwight and Angela, who were behind their bar preparing for the day ahead...
Their sunny Sambuka season very definitely swinging into action ....
Later....
Anadi and I are zooming along the M25 - we were definitely not zooming earlier because it was 5pm and the M25 was resembling the moving car park it is wont to do at that time...!
I drove us at first, to check I could remember how to drive in England... I can, and my conclusion was that it is much easier than in Corfu!
There are no rules on the roads in Corfu...
It appears perfectly okay to drive wherever you please, usually the middle of the road... And then to get out of the way if a car is approaching in the other direction...
Time travel is a funny thing; back in time we have flown and landed in a new and strange land...
But one that is so familiar...
And it is hot here too!
