'The Reduced Shakespeare Catch Up Run...'
This morning, I was up and running up the road in time to reach the Congress theatre at 7.30am.
It was a sunny July morning and it felt just like many of the other sunny summer mornings that Fi and I have met to train together... She appeared at the end of the road and we ran towards one another laughing and doing our 'greeting dance'... The same dance we last 'danced' on our last run together ten months ago...
We hugged and looked at each other and both said how well the other looked... We commented that we both had our mascara on for the photos...!
And then we were off...
'We will have to do the "Reduced Shakespeare" catch up' Fi said as we set off along the seafront....
We did just that, we ran to the end of the seafront and back and by the time we reached the corner of Blackwater road we had pretty much done it!
I was utterly delighted to see her as she ran towards me, my smile couldn't stop smiling... And as the miles unfolded I remembered the laughter of our many runs past... It struck me just how much we do laugh as we run. The people we passed turned their heads as two laughing women approached at a run; and then disappeared again, still laughing...
A few 'regulars' waved... 'I knew we would see him' Fi said as a man we often crossed running paths with, disappeared down a side road waving as he ran... The man doing his fitness regime along the seafront, walking briskly doing his dumbbell exercises as he goes, said 'hello' in the manner of someone who passed me last week... And the lady with the plaited hair was where she always used to be....
It is like dropping back into a matrix, dropping back in and finding the scenes are still playing out, and I saw how easy it is to be where we are, and to get into step and into a rhythm... And then to fly off again...
Connections don't just stop because we are not physically with one another; and the more we trust ourselves and strengthen our inner connection to self, the more we will trust our relationships and connections with one another...
During the 'photo shoot' part of our run, we took a couple of 'mistake videos' which were meant to be photos; I am getting the hang of my new camera...!
They are very funny, but not quite up to public display... There are lots of shots of the pavement, and conversation between Fi and I as to how to turn the camera off, and whether we were filming or not....
I have seen clients here, morning and evening, in this peaceful room in Ravilious; with the beautiful aqua curtains that sweep to the floor and the stillness in the room, high ceilings and expansive windows; seagulls squawking outside....
Lunchtime was a time of continued celebration at the Grand of David and Jenny's marriage and Alex and Will's presence here before flying back to Oz.... And we threw in David's 80th birthday in November and my birthday in May to the celebration mix....
And to make things even better, my very special friend and sister in law (from another life) Haze was there....
