A Fun Way To Train...
I slept for nine hours! Anadi woke up before me and got up while I was still asleep!
This is something that never happens! I am by nature the early bird and he is the owl...
Day one must have tired me! :)
We have discovered that twenty years ago we were both in London, but our paths would never have crossed...
I was getting up to run at 6am and at the same time Anadi was heading for bed after a night music making in the studio ...!
Today Anadi had no milk for his morning cup of tea and he had a meeting on Skype planned for 9am ...
I had decided to walk rather than run or do any leaping today to allow my achilles - and in truth my whole body - to accommodate yesterday and to ensure that I am always building up not breaking down...
A walk over the cliff to West Bay a couple of miles away on a 'milk mission' for Anadi's morning cuppa presented itself as a perfect day two training plan.
At the 11th hour Anadi's Skype call was cancelled due to his colleague having an emergency work thing.
And so I invited him on my 'milk mission' ...!
It was a beautiful gusty washed clean morning, bright skies and fresh fresh air.... We walked and talked our way down the lane, clambered up the slippy steps and then up up up the grassy hill until we were on top of the world.
I walked over these hills as a child with my little sister Rosy and our Mummy and Daddy!
I often walked ahead on my own walk!!!
I can remember when I was about 8 years old and we were on holiday in Cornwall. Every morning I set my alarm for 6am to walk in the lanes 'all by myself'
The story goes that a frequent phrase from me as a little girl was 'I want to do it by myself'.
I didn't walk ahead of Anadi today!!
We walked together talking about life and death and love as we are wont to do...
We talked about not being invested in 'this being it' and so not getting 'stuck' in patterns and beliefs that might restrict our possibility for joy and expansion ...
Wherever we go people think we are on holiday ... We are of course studiously working away!! But we could very much be mistaken for two people 'being on holiday' as we tramped into West Bay from the cliff top at 10am this morning, rosy cheeked and windswept...
We bought milk, and then an impulse buy of coffee and bananas and yoghurt!
The shop keeper cautioned us to keep away from the cliff edge - this coast line has been rather rapidly falling into the sea in the past few years...as we left her shop 'Harbour Stores'. We were about to head back past the boats, when Anadi took my hand and led me round the corner down a street to a shop he had run past yesterday - if was full of brightly coloured tops.
He told me to choose one - I chose a turquoise blue one - of course - it is my favourite colour...
What a fun way to train!
We strode back across the cliffs arriving back 75 minutes after we left - 10 minutes of that was shopping time!
And then I stretched.... before a late breakfast of banana yogurt and coffee...for me...a cup of tea for Anadi :)
