'Once In A Blue Moon...'
I woke up with the moon shining brightly through our window, a big and round, golden shiny almost full moon...
I got up and took a photo of her silently crossing the inky black sky over the mountains, but my photo is somewhat 'lost in translation'!
We sleep with as many doors and windows open as possible, to allow the cooler air to circulate, but stepping out onto the balcony to take my photo, reminded me that the temperature is still very warm all night long...
Warm enough to sleep outside if we chose to...
A blue moon... 'Once in a blue moon' - A time to take those once in a lifetime opportunities, to notice what we truly want and are afraid to go for...
What do we need to let go of to leap into new horizons, to realise our dreams, what we truly desire...? I read all this today whilst waiting for our tomato and onion salad to arrive...
A grasshopper had just landed on Anadi's neck, so he was reading up on the animal totem, which spoke to him about taking a leap too...
Lots of messages of leaping...!
The last blue moon, three years ago, heralded the end of my monthly cycle. Women's periods have been tied to the moon and the lunar cycle for thousands of years, so it seemed quite fitting to end with the grand finale of a blue moon...
And then later that year I met Anadi...
We did a cafe crawl for brunch today... Tomato salad, bread and olive oil, Spanish Omelette and orange juice one side of the road, but a technical hitch to their coffee machine, saw us cross the road to Teide for our cafe con leche... And an irresistible shared slice of Tiramisu...
'Our life seems to be one big leap...' I laughed 'Where is our next leap... What do you desire that you don't have...?
'Even more freedom, I think' Anadi replied... 'Of course that's always inside me, an even deeper relationship with myself, nothing blocking or holding me back...'
This morning I did two laps of 5k... Up, up, up for 2k, and then 3k sweeping downhill on the road through Capiliera and back to Bubion...
Anadi didn't feel his legs wanted to run, so I dropped into the little White House to get water at the end of lap one....
I ran the 3k's fast, which is easy to do downhill...! And lovely to feel flowing at a pace I can't sustain on the flat yet...
The first lap I relaxed knowing there was a second... And covered the 3k in exactly 12 minutes... As I ran I found myself saying over and over... 'You are free; you are free', and I enjoyed the feeling of Tarmac and easy action, rather than the challenge of mountainous land, beautiful as it is!
Lap two I stretched out a little more, finishing the 3k almost at our front door in 11.40... enjoying the feeling and knowing within me that 'I am free'
