The Energy Of Transformation...
Athena Jane and I made our way to the steps at the back of the hotel, and then through a gap onto a little path... A stream was rushing past us, which wasn't there yesterday!
It seems that the mountain water is redirected to where it is most needed and streams appear unexpectedly in places that had previously looked like paths, or maybe with closer inspection like dry stream beds!
We crossed over two stones, turned left as if heading for an orchard, but walked along a path that seems to be on top of a wall, then we turned right, up a narrow path, over a tangled wire fence, up, up, up and then cut through, under a branch hanging over a dusty track to a field with a big leafy tree offering a large patch of shade...
A totally private area for our plan for the afternoon... Some dynamic meditation followed by chanting... The perfect outdoor space, no one would disturb us, no one would come near...
They wouldn't be able to find it!
This place already has energy building as a meditation 'hall'...
It is thanks to Tim, who came here on a development retreat last week... It was his investigative and orienteering skills which meant this special place was found - a tranquil shady spot even in the middle of the hot afternoon sun...
And fortunately I found my way there again! This is a bit of a miracle given my poor sense of direction and 'trouble with knowing where East and West are...'!
The time together with Jane is unfolding in magical ways... We made a plan on Sunday, but plans are only a good idea if they are allowed to stretch and move and allow a new one to form in its place... It is like the energy of transformation has a plan all of its own, if it is given an arena and time and intent...
This morning the three of us ran in the mountains together, Jane has built her fitness since the beginning of the year, consistently and daily and her progress is very noticeable, even since we ran together in Corfu in June...
Consistency and practice, a very simple formula for developing ourselves in any arena... And not rushing or pushing, daily practice... Even when it might feel boring...
I remember a quote I read many years ago that was resonant for me at the time - I was running very big mileage...
'Champions in any field make a habit of doing what others might find boring or uncomfortable...'
As we were running Jane suddenly laughed and said 'I have a bone to pick with you Anadi Taylor... your cat!!'
Anadi's cat is the skinny one, who holds his tail high and has got much fatter since Anadi started feeding him... He has also become very playful, leaping up the side of our chairs and grabbing at our arms!!
We all laughed....
'Your cat followed me up the road last night, hiding in the hedge and then pouncing out and grabbing my ankles...!
