A Sumptious Feast On Every Level...
We woke this morning to the beauty of Buxted Park, another homecoming... A land where I have run before, and where I was happy always in the running steps around these lanes, in this Magnificent park where deer roam and the vista is always one of beauty and expansive green....
And then there is the Ashdown forest nearby, 'my forest' that was always brown and wild and full of footsteps trodden before... The forest I didn't want to ever leave.
The forest I loved so much, that I chose homes, so as to always be in convenient distance to come and run on these never ending footpaths...
The story I told was that I was a traveller within and that I didn't really need actually go anywhere as I journeyed in my dialogues and within my being....
On reflection I have always ventured over lands too - to foreign countries, different languages, cultures, weather and ways
I journeyed to England from Africa when I was little, and then travelled the world to run races from when I was a teenager...
It strikes me that essentially my soul has moved me to always express itself freely whilst running in lovely places... No words needed; nature the communicator of truth and balance and ever changing stillness...
And I have run in exquisite places all my life...
All over the UK in races, the length and breadth of the land...
I have run miles on glorious common land, around Frensham ponds, and across Hankley common the devils punch - my Ashdown forest - , and the South Downs,
Miles and miles of freedom...
All over the world I have arrived in a new place and then headed out to explore, to find out, to see what is there, what I will discover both within and without...
And of course the inner journeying will always reflect on the outer paths, the steep climbs, the wild expanse of beauty, the challenge of the trail...
The road less travelled always opening up before me...
This morning we ran seven miles around a loop I know so well, well trodden in the past. Up Hurstwood Lane, through dappled sun lit lanes under such a blue blue sky!
The morning fresh with September scent... I love waking to a brand new day and heading out to breathe the air, move my body and return to the fabulous Breakfast that Buxted Park provides for us...
A sumptuous morning feast on every level!
Today saw the release of Girlfriend For a Year. If you would like to read more you can click here and if you would like to place an order please click here.
This book tells of how I committed to be a girlfriend for a year, and how through relating honestly and consciously, and allowing the relating to find its form rather than immediately putting a label on it, we found a clear space between us in which our relationship could flourish.
