'Fresh Fruit Salad'
Last night was such a delight... Seeing again our friends the Salvanous family who own and run 'Stefanos Place' where we are 'living' for the next ten days...
The family have had many new arrivals in the last year...
Five!
Five new babies...
Two sets of twins. . This brings three more girl cousins and a boy cousin to Aphrodite, Anastasi and Alexandra... And another little boy, a brother for Alexandra has also been born...
On our way from the airport we stopped off at a giant toy store to buy some small gifts for the eight children....
I said to Litsa, the mum of Alexandra and baby Stefanos, that over the years maybe the bag of gifts would just keep getting bigger and bigger....
She laughed and said 'no'....
But who ever knows what soul might be waiting in the wings, to make its entrance on the stage of life...?
Spiros said to us after we had all hugged one another... 'It is like you were here yesterday....'
This morning Anadi and I ran thirteen miles.... We wound our way up into the hills; olive trees marking our way, the sun rising fast, it's heat rising quickly too... Dogs barking...
Greek dogs... They have a different bark and a different energy to Spanish dogs...
It is all their own... And different again to the dogs in St Lucia...
All the dogs we meet and love in all the different lands have their own ways of being, just as the people do too...
And as we travel, we discover that the more we celebrate and honour our differences, the more we find we are all the same...
We are all one, all different aspects of the whole....
Everywhere we journey we re-meet our friends and make new ones as we go...
At the core of all our travelling is the essence of love and connection and delight in sharing....
In Dwight's restrooms he has the passage on Love from the book of Corinthians in the bible, written in more modern terms.
'Love is patient... Love is kind... Love is not envious or boastful or rude or arrogant... Love endures all things.
Love never ends....'
This morning after our run, we swam again in the Ionian Sea... Blue, sparkling with the light of many diamonds hidden in its depths... It was still too, calm and flat like a pond.
Many people bathed in its healing magical balm... The temperature hot, hot, hot outside, 33 degrees....
The water perfect.
We dried and dressed and crossed the road... Lucia and Denise from 'Lagoon' were standing there, smiling and waving...
'This isn't May', Lucia exclaimed....
'No, we're back earlier than we thought', we laughed... 'We missed your breakfasts...'!
'It was my father who spotted you' Lucia continued...
'He said, the English couple are here.... You know... "Fresh fruit salad..."
