Space To 'Just 'Be'
Anadi has created the ebook for 'Girlfriend for a Year', and it will be up on Amazon very soon...
We went through the whole book, checking each paragraph...
It took us two focused hours...
It was like a whistle stop tour of 'our story'...
Emily, who cast her expert editing eye over it, and made some excellent polishing changes, as well as writing the foreword, asked me to tell her why I wrote it... For press purposes...
The motivation originally was just to keep a personal journal...
The year was 2013... It was May 12th, my birthday. I had made a commitment to Anadi that I would be his girlfriend for a year...
And that at the end of the year, we would both review and see where we were at...!
I have always been a 'journal keeper'... When I cleared out everything I owned to become a nomad, there were many, many half filled notebooks full of thoughts and quotes... Guided writing and insights; eulogies written about my own death... Dreams, understandings.... Realisations, affirmations.... Processes, ideas....
Shedding these was a wrench, but now they are gone...
'Girlfriend for a year' (An excerpt here) started this way..... As a journal charting my year as a girlfriend, for me to reflect and grow from.
The book emerged when I saw it as a way to communicate what I have learned, and what I teach, and I saw that it might give others opportunities to go deeper in their own relating and relationships...
Or at the very least, I thought perhaps they might just enjoy reading about Anadi and I!
My friend Wendy has just sent me a text having finished the paperback version of the book...
She says it is okay with her for me to share her words...
'I had to finish your beautiful book, but now I can reread it and dip into it and really hear it's messages. There is so much I love about it - the flow of the words the short 'chapters' which just lead you on to the next. The sharing with Anadi and the sharing of your souls your intimacy. And your wisdom so non judgemental. Thank you...'
Anadi and I were looked after very well by Lucia and Denise, while we used Lagoon as our office for the morning, having started the day as we do in Corfu....
Running and then swimming before breakfast.
My perfect way to start a day....
We had set aside a couple of hours this afternoon for our sacred space, lying about, connecting, being together time....
We raced to get back in time for our time to 'do nothing'! Because Anadi is spending time every afternoon at 5pm with Dwight teaching him the iMediaLibrary platform...
We laughed that we have to race to create our nothing time....
'Thank goodness we do though', I said... 'It is so easy to see how life gets full of "things to do"... We could so easily have just carried on...'
'I've always got things to do' Anadi agreed...
'We must always put this space in, always... This space to just be together'
It is different space to hanging out together, different to eating together, different even to sleeping in bed together...
It is Sacred Space....
