There Is Only Now
I am ready to run - I can hear birds tweeting - but it is still dark...
I cannot remember when I last went for a run in the dark in the morning....
As a teenager, I never saw daylight in the winter weekdays... My alarm would go off at 6am, I was out of the door by 6.15, back by 7, and on the bus for sixth form college by 7.30...
As I left my home, I'd often hear it rumbling up the road. I would tear up our drive, and then madly sprint along the lane to leap aboard...
Wendy got on the bus at the next stop, and our day of togetherness had begun...
We were inseparable - reminding the curate of our church, Dave - of Ursula and Gudrun from 'Women in love' by DH Lawrence...
We were completely sufficient unto to each other....
And now forty years on, when we meet, it is as if there has been no passing of time... We even look the same... To one another anyway!
I am home, the flat is warm and Anadi is making me a cup of Chaga... It is a mushroom drink recommended by Eugene....
It is for the whole nervous system... Because every single mushroom is linked, and so are we..
I have yet to look up its properties, so my interpretation may not have done it justice...
But Eugene's description inspired me... It sounded very magical mushroom indeed.
Later...
I drove out of London and enjoyed being on the M25!
It was clear and fast, the scenery either side was bright, light and spectacular... I truly am experiencing Britain at its absolute best...
And now I am waiting for Amy for our business meeting.
We very much enjoy our meetings, as they resemble two friends catching up...
We were going to meet in London, but after some to ings and fro ings, so that I could do an afternoon session with a client, it seemed the very best thing for me to zoom out of London and back to glorious Sussex...
Once again I have been drawn back to Buxted Park... My soul resonates with here, perhaps I have lived here before.... before before I mean... Not just the time I spent from 1988....
When I arrived I was greeted warmly, I had made good time and having had no breakfast I asked if any was still available.... Within a trice I had been brought a bowl of fresh fruit salad and some scrambled egg...
I sat alone in the Crystal bar enjoying the sun streaming through the open door, watching the preparations for a wedding, happening all around me...
Amy arrived, with my new pinhole glasses...
I wear them instead of glasses glasses, as they help train my eyes and keep them working hard; they make them stronger, rather than allowing them to 'give in' to finding close up reading harder than before...
My new ones have blue frames!
Amy and I settled into our usual spot on the sofa, in the middle of the Crystal bar, and as the morning progressed to lunchtime, we found ourselves completely surrounded by guests of the wedding in all their gorgeous finery...
It was like we were invisible, ghosts from another time sitting on our favourite chair while another event in a different timeline was going on on top of our experience...
Worlds in worlds, time in a circle, no time, everything happening now...
There is only now.
