Fartleking In The Park Again...
I was keen to run the 'park run' in Groveland's park this morning, but as it turned out not actually keen enough to wake myself up to do it!
By the time I reached home from my outing to Sussex yesterday, had written my blog, responded to emails, and eaten in our favourite Turkish restaurant...
Anadi and I eventually got to bed at around 1am...
I still had an idea I would wake up anyway, because I am an early waker and getter upper - usually - but I chose to refrain from any alarm calls!
At 8.44 I woke up... With 16 minutes to get to the start line, I chose not to...!
Instead I had a nice leisurely rising, and then ran at 10am, 'fartleking' like I did last Saturday, while Anadi circled the park at his own pace... I ran back and forth to him in my recovery jogs, and so we sort of 'went for a run' together...
On our way there we met a cygnet on the pavement... A young woman was feeding it bread, while a man was on the phone...
'Has it escaped'? I asked the woman... 'Yes, it flew and landed on the bonnet of a car' she replied...
''Who do you call for this' Anadi asked... 'On a Saturday, the police' she said 'the RSPCA are closed '
We ran on and on our return, the baby swan was gone... Hopefully back in its pond!
As my new book 'Girlfriend for a year' makes itself out into the world, it is re connecting me with old friends... My book on conscious relating is opening up dialogues again with people I met and enjoyed connecting with six years ago...
It was 2009 and Suzy Miller was creating the first ever UK ‘divorce fair’... It was called SOS which stood for Starting Over Show, and it was about Starting Over from divorce in a holistic and empowering way.
It was great fun to be part of the first show and I met some wonderful people... I remember going to one of the networking events in London and meeting Andy Nicholson who told me his wonderful story about how he and his wife Di had met and recognised their connection instantly and immediately, even though they were miles apart... They had followed their hearts and were now living and working together, inspiring others in learning to free themselves from their fears, live fully and relate consciously!
'GFAY' is reconnecting me with these that friends I made then, they are encouraging and supportive as I share myself with everyone....
