Enjoying The Ride....
Last night at about 10.30pm, I was sitting in the lounge area of the hotel by Richmond Park that is our home for a few days. Anadi was finishing some updates in the hotel room; and a man from the hotel staff engaged me in conversation...
'Still working madam, things to do..?' He enquired... 'Yes, always working...' I laughed... 'Well you look very happy doing it' he continued...
'I am...' I replied; and then I told him of the lifestyle that Anadi and I are living, and ongoing creating... I told him what Anadi was doing, about his work, and how we had been travelling now for sixteen months, how we had shed our possessions...
'People become very attached to possessions' he said 'they exchange money for an object that they then consider they own, and they cannot let go; it is an orientation of freedom if you can let go...'
We continued to talk some more, and then I asked him if he had been born in the UK, as it didn't seem to me that he had our culture steeped in him...
'No', he said, 'I was born in Antigua...' At that moment he was called away by a colleague, and I continued with my writing...
Today has been a lovely day...
I ran intervals on the treadmill first thing... I repeated the session of ten by two minutes at 14kph, which I first did around three weeks ago... But today instead of two minutes recovery, I took only a minute...
The session felt easy; this is a relative term!
I then worked with a client all morning, and in the afternoon went into Richmond to Christmas shop and sit in Starbucks....
Just four days ago I was drinking cafe con leche and today semi dry Cappuccino; surrounded by very different beings in Richmond to our local cafe in San Sebastián...
As I wandered around Richmond amidst the Christmas buskers, the Christmas shoppers, lights and sparkle and bustle and Christmas energy everywhere, I felt like I was in some fast moving film... The scene quickly changing from San Sebastián where the festival is understated, to a new land there the energy is focused on the rituals and reasons to be together this week...
And I felt very much like a spirit on a human journey...
Enjoying the ride!
