So Here It Is Merry Christmas...
Christmas Eve...
Our office is Starbucks, it is quiet here, a few people drinking coffee, chatting, some on their computers like Anadi and I....
Christmas music is playing...
I am enjoying the atmosphere, outside the sun is shining on the shiny 'wet from a burst of rain' road, and red London buses are rumbling past 'a plenty'...
This morning we ran a lap of the park...
Beautiful, magnificent, Richmond Park... I wore my Go Pro and Anadi is making one of his 'imedialibrary athlete management' pages so that everyone can see our run...! ( should they choose to!)
We passed many people as we ran, who were circling the park the other way; not many smiled or engaged, they were in their own run, on their own path... A few spotted the camera and smiled into it, and one or two smiled at me...
'This is quite a social experiment', I said to Anadi, 'and I feel even more like I am in a film of my life than usual...'
We reached one path, wet brown earth, flanked by trees...
'I remember this path, weren't there lots of green parrots here?' I said... 'Or am I making up some fairy tale...'
And then there they were....
Flying through the trees, landing on branches, sitting on the ground. We spotted at least ten. (I only have 'film evidence ', sadly no still photos...!)
But I loved the little green parrots with bright red beaks....
Diana, a lovely young woman, who served us our coffee has just come to clear the tables around us... She asked me if everything was satisfactory, and then enquired as to whether we are from the UK...
And so I told her our story, and she shared with me that she is here to learn English... Diane is half Spanish, half Portuguese and speaks both languages fluently - she was born in Geneva.... So she speaks French too...
'My dream is to work as cabin crew for a big airline... And so I need English, and that is why I am living here, but I am young, so I have time...'
And then she was on her way
'Thank you for the conversation' she said as she left with her hands full of cups and plates; 'Thank you' I replied 'I have enjoyed it'....
And now, just as we are about to leave, a grand finale...
Slade is playing!
'So here it is Merry Christmas, everybody's having fun
Look to the future now, it's only just begun....'
