Girlfriend For A Year...

It is 8.30pm in the evening and I have been launching GFAY in Simon's wine bar 'Ten Green Bottles'...
Well that was what the purpose of the party was anyway... But in truth it was simply an opportunity to bring us all together...
My brother has often spoken of my 'gathering people energy'...
When I ran in the commonwealth games and dropped out at 20 miles, he spoke at the dinner we had for friends and family in the evening, and I remember him saying 'it doesn't matter what Julia did today, what matters is she gathered us all together...'
At my fourth wedding he said 'Julia loves to gather people...!'
I then wrote running to learn and invited many people to launch that with me, and my sister Rosy said ...
'This is it julia, you don't need to have weddings to get people together, you can keep writing books and having 'launch parties'....
I then tried to write a book about being a 'girlfriend for a year', but I didn't last the year...
And I did get married...!
We just haven't had the party yet!
But today we celebrated anyway, the birth of my book, the birth of whatever this book might bring...
It's a book about relationship, and today it gathered many amazing souls sharing love and wine, fun and coffee...
I was surrounded by so many people who I love, and I treasure the relationship I have with each and every one of them...
