Energy, Shifting, Moving, Transforming , Transmuting...
Wednesday
Gozo sparkled in the sunlight and welcomed us back to its shores... The energy of this little island in the sun is one of happiness and light... It gave us a joyful welcome as we drove up the hill to the Grand Hotel which had been our office through last October, and is now our home for two weeks.
After a leisurely lunch and lovely explorative conversation, Jamie, Anadi and I headed off across the cliff top to show Jamie some of the island's beauty...
The sun was setting in glorious style, and as we jumped and ran over the rocky path, I was taken back 33 years to when I first met Jamie's Dad Nick... He and I ran many miles running together when he visited us in Bath...
He and Nigel (my husband then) were at college together and it was when visiting us that he met Rosy, my sister...
Little did I know that many years later I would be running along next to their son...
Thursday
Our day started at 7.30am, the three of us met up to run together... We finished at the door of the gym that we had discovered the night before...
It is situated in a beautiful square, where Anadi remembered celebrating with the whole island, the festival of the feast of Our Lady, when he visited Gozo to stay with his Grandparents over thirty five years ago...
We had been enjoying 'run Philosophique'....We set off uphill and ran companionably in silence for about two miles... A silent 'meditation on the move' start - or perhaps a 'just waking up' start...! After awhile we started to chat naturally and expansively...
Jamie is a wonderful soul and we are enjoying his company hugely... And - my 'handstand practising' is fully re-ignited... I enjoyed watching him effortlessly go into a perfectly balanced handstand...
I am also committed to get a lot more supple. Jamie's sport is acrobatic gymnastics and the combination of strength and flexibility is inspiring and beautiful to witness...
He has been giving us lessons, so watch this space... 'Mission Handstand' has not been abandoned!
Later
We had made a plan last night over dinner... Jamie and I both like to plan! And Anadi is happy to flow with the go of our plan :)
We had a Pru arriving at 2pm on the plan... But we were not exactly sure how long she would take to get through the airport and across the island to the ferry...
But at 2pm Anadi and I were waiting excitedly, enjoying the feel of the bright sun, as Pru's ferry docked at Mgarr port...
Pru told us how she had clambered into the taxi, as they journeyed, her driver had asked her where in Gozo she was going to be staying
'I don't really know' Pru replied... 'Where are you going...?' He enquired again...
'I don't really know', Pru repeated....
'There was then about a ten second silence' she continued in the telling of her story; 'and then he said to me "I think you must not be pronouncing that quite correctly... Our language is very difficult"....!
And now we are a very happy four....
We had a wonderful afternoon... A long lunch full of laughter and conversation, and then Pru and I walked to the harbour to sit on a bench and explore her intentions for the days to come...
Anadi and Jamie went to practise Chi Gong....
Saturday
We have just returned from Ramla Beach...
Our own retreat beach.
At the far end Anadi and Jamie practised Chi Gong; Pru and I found a space in the sand to put our blanket (which I had smuggled out from our room in the hotel)
She then lay down and we spent an hour healing, with the sound of the waves as our back drop...
A perfect finale to our day... Energy shifting, moving, transforming, transmuting...
The four of us met up after we had finished our 'practises' and climbed up to a perfect viewing point of Calypso's cave, where we stood looking over the bay as the sun set - streaky dark blue and pink.
