The Beach of Bare Bottoms!
Yesterday we drove again to our beach, at the end of the day this time to enjoy the low low tide...
'I don't feel like running' I said to Anadi as we crossed the road barefoot onto the sand... 'That's cool with me' he said.
Instead of running, we walked for an hour and a half on the wet sand, the surf sometimes catching our feet. We saw a few naked beings, we have found it usual to meet someone walking towards us without a stitch on, or see people lying bare on the beach, nut brown, blending in with the sand and the sunny scene.
I love this beach so much I said.... 'What do you love about it'? Anadi asked me.
'I like the wet sand and the waves and the wind and how I feel here', I said.
Anadi turned his hands over, l'ook at the chi' he said
My hands were tingling and on turning them over, I saw they were specked with white blotches of chi too. 'Perhaps this beach is a magic healing beach', I said.
I was first drawn here sixteen years ago. I was staying nearby with my beautiful goddaughter Freya, she was sixteen at the time. We had set off on mountain bikes across the volcanic land.... I didn't much like it and Freya didn't either, or she said she didn't, perhaps to accommodate her scaredy godmother!
She is currently one of the best in the world at toughmud races and obstacle course events. This weekend she is competing In the Spartan World Championships In Squaw Valley in Lake Tahoe California’, and watching her blossom and grow into the fearless warrior athlete that she is today, has led me to wonder if she was just being very lovely to me on that day many years ago!
Anyway, back then we left the rocky volcanic path, and sped instead along the long smooth straight road that leads to Famara beach.
There was not a soul on it that day.
We lay our bikes on the sand, and stripped off all our clothes... We didn't know then that this is a beach of nakedness... Or perhaps deep down we did, our inner compass accurate.
We lay naked in the surf laughing and giggling, joyous and alone surrounded by this huge expanse of beauty. A couple appeared then, walking slowly along our beach. As they approached, they called to us and pointed to our bikes. We waved and smiled.... But as we had no clothes on so we continued to lie in the surf!
It then transpired they were alerting us to the fact the tide was coming in fast and racing towards our bikes. When we didn't emerge, they simply moved them for us, further up the beach out of the way of the waves, and then waved and went on their way.
Only then did us sea nymphs surface and race up the beach with our bottoms all bare.
